The Socialist Renewal Party is a socialist, anti-zionist political party in [[Bagelland]].

===== History =====
The Socialist Renewal Party was founded in March 2026 by Rami Mardkhay and a coalition of trade unionists, feminist organizations, and anti-war activists. The party emerged as a split from the broader Bagelland left, specifically citing the "failure of liberal consensus" and the "betrayal of socialist principles" by the establishment parties. 

Since its inception, the SRP has positioned itself as the primary voice of the radical left in Bagelland, distinguishing itself from other leftist factions through its unwavering anti-capitalist stance and sharp criticism of the State of Israel's policies, and also has been the first party in the country denouncing that "what is happening in Gaza is a genocide".

===== Ideology =====
The SRP's ideology is broadly defined as Democratic Socialism and Populist Socialism. The party advocates for the overthrow of the capitalist system in favor of a planned economy focused on workers' self-management and environmental sustainability. The party always has been close to the Svelish [[populaire_unie|Popular Union]], the anti-capitalist political party in power in [[Sveland]].
==== Anti-Zionism and Foreign Policy ====
Central to the party's platform is a fierce Anti-Zionist stance. The SRP argues that the concept of an ethno-religious state is inherently discriminatory and advocates for a single, secular, democratic state encompassing all of Bagelland, ensuring equal rights for Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, and Christians alike. They strongly condemned the genocide in Gaza, military action in the West Bank and apartheid policies, aligning themselves with international boycott movements. The party also has been supportive of the BDS movement, and has always called for a "one-state, equal Palestine from the river to the sea". Israeli war criminal and prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the party of being "antisemetic" for its opposition of the current Israeli state.

The party adopts a progressive, feminist platform. They advocate for the complete separation of religion and state, robust LGTBQ+ rights, and the legalization of abortion. The party views the struggle for gender equality as inseparable from the class struggle.
==== Economic policy ====
 Economically, the SRP proposes the nationalization of key industries, energy, and natural resources. They support a massive increase in the minimum wage, a 32-hour workweek with no loss of pay, and the expropriation of vacant housing to address the cost of living crisis. They also wish to raise the budget for the Social Security Service in the country to benefit those with lower incomes.
