Ukuhero, officially the Democratic Commonwealth of Ukuhero, is a country in the weiMC Minecraft server.
The history of Ukuhero traces its origins to the Japanese colonization of present-day Cape Samu. Acquired during the expansion of the Empire of Japan, the island—then known as Samumisaki (Japanese: 寒岬, lit. “the cold cape”)—initially served as a penal colony for low-risk political prisoners and a settlement for a large population of Burakumin. Following World War II, the territory was seized by British Armed Forces along with the neighboring region of Ukuhero (Japanese: 宇久兵呂, derived from the Māori Uku Whero, meaning “red clay”).
Under British administration, the territories were organized into two separate Crown Colonies: Cape Samu and New Elizabeth. In 1983, the Ukuhero Nationalist Party (UNP) assumed political leadership, successfully petitioning for a referendum on sovereignty. On December 25, 1984, the territory transitioned to independence as the Commonwealth of Ukuhero, a constitutional monarchy maintaining ties to the British Crown.
On December 25, 1989—the fifth anniversary of independence—Cape Samu was officially integrated into the Commonwealth following a period of civil unrest and mass protests regarding the historical mistreatment of the Burakumin population. Upon its handover, Cape Samu replaced Ukuhero City (now Sunazakai) as the national capital.
