Populaire Unie

The Popular Union is the major radical-left, anti-capitalist party in the Socialist Republic of Sveland. Founded as a democratic socialist alternative to liberal and conservative factions, the party has always been a champion and has voiced for structural transformation of the economy, strong public ownership, and a firm opposition to both capitalism and liberalism.

Ideology

The Popular Union defines itself as a democratic socialist and anti-liberal party. Its platform includes:

  • Radical anti-capitalism
  • Anti-liberalism and opposition to conservative influence
  • Progressive reforms in labour, identity politics, healthcare, and education
  • Strong anti-Americanism and rejection of neoliberal globalism

Unlike reformist social democrats of other parties, the Popular Union is explicitly radical in tone and program, seeking systemic social transformation within a democratic framework.

The party has always been supportive of LGBTQ+ rights in Sveland and has always backed transgender and non-binary people's right of recognition by the government.

Position

Firmly positioned on the left-wing of the political spectrum spectrum, the Popular Union distinguishes itself from centrist or moderate forces. It has always cooperated with the Communist Party of Sveland (CPS) in parliamentary coalitions and movement organizing.

Base and Support

The Popular Union draws support from public sector workers, leftist students, labour unions, and urban intellectuals. It is known for its grassroots mobilization and commitment to participatory democracy within party structures.
